Rio de Janeiro's cultural programming recorded significant growth in the first half of this year. The public network facilities received 3,000,877 visitors between January and July, representing a 21.5% increase compared to the same period in 2025, when 2,469,885 visits were recorded. Museums concentrated the highest number of visitors among the different areas of the network, with 1,252,678 visits.
The Museu do Amanhã was the major highlight of this increase, receiving 815,800 people in the analyzed period. The Museu de Arte do Rio (MAR) also contributed to the result, with 230,242 visitors. Another facility that stood out was the Centro Cultural Parque Glória Maria, which exceeded the mark of 516,000 visits between January and July.
The city's arenas and small arenas received 502,743 visitors and held 2,644 activities during the period. The cultural centers, in turn, attracted 754,902 people and held 1,693 activities. According to the Municipal Department of Culture, the network began this year with a defined curatorial plan and had expanded operating hours, factors that contributed to the increase in public attendance.
