António Boaventura, a Portuguese resident in Lisbon, developed on his house terrace a platform that uses Artificial Intelligence to monitor air traffic over the Portuguese capital.
The platform created by Boaventura is capable of counting the number of planes that pass over Lisbon, collecting data on the frequency and patterns of flyovers in the city.
In addition to counting aircraft, the system also measures the noise produced by the planes, allowing the evaluation of the sonic impact of air operations in the urban area.
The initiative comes in the context of growing concern about the effects of noise and air traffic in Lisbon's residential areas, offering citizens a tool to better understand the intensity of air operations in the capital.
