In Portugal, adopting an animal can be more complicated than it seems. Faced with this difficulty, a couple from Porto decided to create a digital solution to connect animal protection associations and future animal owners.
The application created by the Porto couple works as a kind of dating platform for animals, allowing animal protection associations to present animals available for adoption and for interested people to get to know them and, eventually, adopt them.
The platform was described as a "digital museum of furry friends" Tinder-style, suggesting that users can "browse" through animal profiles in a similar way to the dating app, discovering new animals and expressing interest in those that catch their attention the most.
The main objective of the application is to facilitate the adoption process in Portugal, which frequently involves bureaucracy and communication difficulties between associations and potential adopters, creating a more direct and accessible channel to connect homeless animals with people interested in giving them a new home.
