The Municipal Library of Mealhada will host, on September 5th, between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM, a morning dedicated to future parents, as part of the "Baby on the Way" initiative. The event, promoted by the Municipality of Mealhada in partnership with the "Conversas com Barriguinhas" project, aims to support families in preparing for the arrival of a baby, featuring the presence of several specialists who will share knowledge and clarify participants' doubts.
The program includes various themes, namely: "celebrating the arrival", "the big day: how to prepare for childbirth with confidence", "connecting mother to baby through the umbilical cord: learn about its importance", "the baby's motor development in the first year of life", "myths in the diet of pregnant women and babies", "myths of breastfeeding" and "the couple in the postpartum period".
According to the mayor of the Municipality of Mealhada, António Jorge Franco, the initiative aims to increase health literacy during pregnancy and baby care, providing accessible information, based on evidence and suited to the real needs of families. The mayor states that "informing to care, clarifying to build trust, and preparing to experience this new stage with greater security" are some of the main objectives of the action.
Participation in the event is free, but subject to prior registration, which can be done through the website indicated in the press release.
