The head of European Union diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, classified on Wednesday the failed attack at Leipzig airport in Germany as having "all the hallmarks of state-sponsored terrorism", pointing responsibilities directly at Russia. The leader also announced that the Russian representative in Brussels would be summoned to provide explanations about the incident.
The attack occurred on August 4, when a drone loaded with explosives was discovered near a Ukrainian Antonov aircraft parked at Leipzig/Halle airport. The explosive device was deactivated before it could cause any damage.
