The World Day of the Serra da Estrela Dog was celebrated in Seia, an initiative that took place on Saturday. The event celebrated this Portuguese canine breed, recognized for its traditional role of guarding flocks in the mountains of Serra da Estrela.

The organization of the event was carried out by two entities: the League of Breeders and Friends of the Serra da Estrela Dog and the Portuguese Association of the Serra da Estrela Dog, which together promoted this celebration dedicated to the breed.

Seia, located in the Serra da Estrela region, is the natural habitat associated with this breed of dog, which has deep roots in the pastoral tradition of the mountainous area. The celebration aimed to recognize the historical and cultural importance of the dog in this Portuguese region.
