The Chega party defends a deportation policy for foreign citizens who are in illegal situations in Portugal or who are convicted of serious crimes. The position was expressed by deputy Francisco Gomes, a member of the party in the Assembly of the Republic.
Francisco Gomes argues that Portugal should adopt a demanding migration policy, which prioritizes integration and respect for laws, constitutional values and fundamental norms of Portuguese society.
According to the parliamentarian, the State should reject the permanence of foreigners who do not comply with these criteria, whether through their irregular situation in the national territory, or through the practice of serious crimes that deserve condemnation.
