The Municipal Council of Caminha delivered participation certificates to the young people who joined the municipal program "Summer Youth 2026", a pilot initiative aimed at residents of the municipality aged between 16 and 18 years. The ceremony took place at the Town Hall and was attended by the mayor, Liliana Silva, and councilors Carlos Castro and José Leal.
During the summer, participants had contact with different municipal services, developing technical, administrative, social, cultural and recreational tasks in spaces such as the Municipal Library, the Ludoteca of Vila Praia de Âncora, the Municipal Museum, the Tourist Offices of Caminha and Vila Praia de Âncora, as well as the Sea Memories Space, at Forte da Lagarteira.
According to the municipality, the program allowed young people to acquire personal and social skills, learn about the functioning of local administration and strengthen ties with the community.
The Municipal Council of Caminha intends to continue with "Summer Youth", considering the initiative a tool for promoting responsibility, autonomy, cooperation, active citizenship and equal opportunities.
