An explosion in a building passage led to the complete closure of the Augsburg railway station in Germany on Wednesday morning. The incident caused the evacuation of the surrounding area and the interruption of all railway services at the station.
German authorities found a second suspicious object near the site of the explosion. This discovery led security operatives to expand the security perimeter established around the station.
Security forces also blocked access to the station and are carrying out searches and sweeps of the area. Police have not yet revealed further details about the nature of the objects found or the causes of the explosion.
