The National Police dismantled a criminal organization suspected of being dedicated to international heroin trafficking after intervening 21 kilos of this substance in Gran Canaria. Four people were arrested in connection with this operation.
The seized drugs were to be subsequently transported to the Peninsula, according to the investigation. Authorities indicate that this route represents a new pathway for the introduction and transit of narcotics that agents continue to analyze.
The operation represents a significant blow against international heroin trafficking in the Canary Islands, a region that has been used as a transit point for illicit substances destined for mainland Spanish territory.
