Francisca Oliveira, at 27 years old, became the first woman to join the board of Riopele, a textile company founded by her great-grandfather and about to celebrate its centennial. The young woman studied in London and Paris, and also completed an internship at Inditex, the Spanish group that owns Zara.
The decision to return to Famalicão after spending time in the fashion capitals proved easier than Francisca Oliveira initially imagined. Despite having been abroad, the young woman maintains daily contact with designers in New York, China and London, demonstrating the international dimension of the work she develops.
Francisca Oliveira does not consider Famalicão or Portugal to be small markets, emphasizing that technology and digital connections allow her to maintain a truly global work network. Her international experience seems to have been fundamental to her recent appointment to the board of the family company.
The young woman was a guest on the "Liga dos Inovadores" podcast, where she shared her experience and perspective on the textile sector and innovation in the Portuguese context.
