Fire hits annex of abandoned house in Santo Amaro

A fire broke out on Wednesday night in an annex of an abandoned house, on Beco do Cascalho, in Santo Amaro, in Funchal. The alert was received by the Funchal firefighters at 9:39 PM, having initially been reported as a grass fire. However, when the operatives arrived at the scene, they found that the flames had spread to an annex of an abandoned house. Seven members of the corporation were dispatched to the scene, with the support of two heavy firefighting vehicles. The authorities have not yet released information about possible injuries or the cause of the fire.
