Coach João Gião dismissed from Nacional after four games

Observador1 September 2026 at 21:25

Coach João Gião was fired from Nacional after just four games in charge of the team. This was the first dismissal of the 2024/25 season in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.

The last two results that led to the coach's departure were consecutive defeats against Vitória de Guimarães and Estrela da Amadora. These losses weighed on the club's decision.

Nacional has yet to announce João Gião's replacement. The Madeiran club is thus looking for a new coach to lead the team in the upcoming league matches.
