A worker dies in Granada when a chimney propped up for demolition collapses

A worker approximately 42 years old, of Colombian nationality, died this Tuesday after a chimney that was propped up for demolition fell on him on Laureado López Muñoz street, in the Zaidín neighborhood, in Granada. The accident occurred minutes before 11:00 am and is being investigated by the National Police.

The authorities are also analyzing whether there is any connection between what happened and the series of earthquakes recorded in the province in recent weeks, although until now that relationship has not been established.

The worker was involved in demolition work when the structure collapsed. The exact circumstances of the accident are still being determined by the ongoing investigation.
