The Government of José Luis Martínez-Almeida initially approved the urban planning that will allow the development in Valdebebas of what will be the largest shopping center in the city of Madrid. This approval does not yet constitute a license to start the works, but rather a Special Plan, the legal and urban planning instrument necessary to establish the organization of the plots.
The Special Plan defines how the plots can be organized, including the access, connections and parking that will be part of the future Valdebebas Shopping. This document is the essential prior step before the granting of any construction license.
The shopping center will be located next to the recently rezoned sports city of Real Madrid, also situated in Valdebebas. This proximity creates an area of great urban and commercial development in the north of the Spanish capital.
The project represents a significant investment for the Valdebebas area, which has been growing as one of the most important urban expansion areas of Madrid in recent years.
