Swimmer attacked by otter in US lake and receives 38 stitches

Last Sunday, Lynnette Bellin, 51, went swimming in Lake Tahoe, in Nevada, in the United States, as she usually did. During the exercise, the swimmer was violently attacked by an otter and received 38 stitches in total. The attack occurred near Hidden Beach.

Lynnette told CBS News that something grabbed her leg and pulled her underwater with so much force that she thought she was being attacked by a human. The American, owner of the ISR Reno Tahoe survival swimming school, tried to resist, but the otter wouldn't stop attacking. She screamed for help while the animal continued its fierce assault.

The swimmer only managed to escape by climbing onto a rock in the middle of the lake. Upon emerging, her nose and the left side of her face were covered in blood, as was her left hand. One of her feet required 22 stitches.
