Collective redundancies rise to 375 by July, highest value since 2020 - DGERT

Portuguese companies reported 375 collective dismissals by July, representing an increase of about 13% compared to the same period of the previous year. This value is the highest recorded since 2020.

The data was released today by the Directorate-General for Employment and Labor Relations (DGERT), responsible for compiling and publishing these statistics.

The 13% growth compared to the same period last year reflects a trend of increase in collective dismissals in Portugal, which had already been observed in previous months.

This is the highest value for the first seven months of the year since 2020, indicating a significant acceleration in business restructuring processes in the country.
