Amazon is being sued by 1.2 million advertisers who accuse the company of "overbilling" in its advertising services. The lawsuit arises in the context of sponsored advertising practices on the platform.
The litigation focuses on sponsored displays, an advertising format that favors certain products in consumers' search results. Advertisers claim they were charged amounts higher than they should have been.
Amazon categorically rejected the accusations. In response to the lawsuit, the company stated that no advertiser pays more than the price they won in the advertising auction.
