The Municipality of Mourão and the Social Security Institute, through the District Centre of Évora, signed on August 26 a collaboration protocol to ensure financial support for children to attend a public daycare in the municipality. The agreement was formalized by the president of the Municipal Council of Mourão, João Fortes, and by the director of the District Centre of Évora of the Social Security Institute, Nuno Branco Alas.
The protocol falls within the priority defined by the municipal executive to promote equal access to opportunities for all children, regardless of their respective socioeconomic background. The Social Security Institute commits to guaranteeing the financial support provided for the child's attendance at the public daycare, based on the monthly amount established per child under the applicable legislation.
After the signing of the agreement, the representatives of both entities visited the daycare facilities. The specific amount of support per child covered by the protocol was not disclosed in the information provided by the municipality.
