A 79-year-old woman was helitransported to hospital after suffering herbicide poisoning. The incident occurred early this afternoon in Lagares da Beira, in the municipality of Oliveira do Hospital.
The Lagares da Beira fire department was called to intervene in the situation. The fire department commander, António Pinto, gave statements to Boa Nova Radio about the occurrence.
The helitransport was necessary to ensure faster and more adequate transport of the victim to the hospital unit.
