Viosinho is the new single-variety wine from Adega de Favaios

Público1 September 2026 at 14:52

Adega de Favaios presented a new Viosinho single-variety wine, thus expanding its offering of experimental whites. This wine is part of the Casa Velha brand portfolio, which is known for producing quality wines in the Douro region.

Curiously, the Casa Velha brand was created in 1960 with the initial goal of enhancing the red grapes of the Favaios plateau. However, over time, the brand expanded its production to also include experimental and single-variety whites.

The new Viosinho joins other experimental whites from Casa Velha, demonstrating Adega de Favaios' commitment to exploring new grape varieties and types in the region. This expansion into single-variety whites reflects a trend toward diversification and innovation in the winery's wine production.
