The Technical University of Porto (UTP), which results from the transition of the former polytechnic, saw its management bodies take office today, in a milestone that marks a new phase for the institution.
Rector Paulo Pereira classified this moment as 'historic', highlighting the importance of this transformation both for the North region and for Portuguese higher education in general.
The UTP emerges as a higher education institution that assumes a new statute, representing a significant change in the structure of the educational system of the region.
This event reflects the changes in the higher education landscape in Portugal, with the creation of a technical university that aims to strengthen the educational offerings and research in the North of the country.
