MC, owner of Continente, is investing around 500 thousand euros in an artificial intelligence training program that will train 4,000 employees. The program, called "Enterprise AI Adoption", is structured and modular, having been developed based on an assessment answered by four thousand people. The training will be made available in a phased manner through e-learning pathways, with the aim of strengthening AI literacy and creating a common knowledge base in the organization.
The company estimates that, in one year, the new AI tools will allow savings of around 100 thousand hours of work. The tasks impacted include meetings, document processing and summarization, automation of research and investigation processes, inventory validation and information processing. MC argues that this time saving is allowing employees to focus on higher-value tasks that require human knowledge and intuition.
MC intends to create a cross-cutting approach to AI training, involving different levels of the organization and accompanying the evolution of skills needed to respond to the challenges and opportunities of the technology. According to a recent study by the European Central Bank, more than half of workers in Eurozone companies already use AI, although the impact on productivity remains uneven and adoption continues to be constrained. The main concerns raised by the ECB are the reliability of the tools and the lack of support from employers.
