Vila Viçosa will host on September 2nd a technical meeting dedicated to local archaeological heritage, organized at the invitation of the CECHAP Study Centre. The objective of the meeting is to evaluate the possible classification of archaeological remains considered of "great interest", located in a marble quarry in the municipality.
The session will take place at Cine-teatro Florbela Espanca, at 10 a.m., and will feature the presence of various specialists and decision-makers. Among the participants will be the Vice-President of CCDR-Alentejo, Eng. Henrique Sim-Sim, senior technicians from the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology, archaeologists from the University of Évora and representatives from the Municipal Council of Vila Viçosa.
