The Municipality of Mourão hosts on September 24 the III Meeting of RIBAC – Intermunicipal Network of Libraries of Central Alentejo, dedicated to the theme "Green Libraries". The event takes place at the Municipal Movie-Theater of Mourão and aims to be a space for reflection, sharing of experiences and debate on the role of libraries in promoting sustainability, raising awareness among communities and contributing to meeting the objectives of the 2030 Agenda.
The program begins at 09:30 with participant reception, followed by the opening session at 10:00. The first panel, at 09:50, is titled "The international concept of Green Libraries and its framework in Portugal", moderated by Edite Guimarães from the Évora_27 Association, with interventions from Catarina Vaz Pinto from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and Bruno Eiras from DGLAB.
The second panel, at 11:20, addresses "Libraries as agents of change: sustainability, citizenship and Agenda 20/30", moderated by Filipe Leal from Mapa de Ideias, with participation from Sandra Dias from the Municipal Library José Saramago in Loures and Liliana Silva from the School Libraries Network. The third panel focuses on "From concept to practice: concrete Green Libraries projects", moderated by Susana Silvestre from Boost your Thinking and participation from Anabela Anjos from the Municipal Library of Ferreira do Zêzere, who will present the "Green Libraries" project from the MARCA Association.
The meeting includes lunch at 12:30, open debate during the afternoon, and closing scheduled for 16:30, followed by a networking snack at 16:45. The initiative brings together professionals and specialists from the library and culture sector, constituting an opportunity to share practices, projects and strategies that can be implemented in the libraries of Central Alentejo.
