Iranian president proposes immediate reciprocity if US returns to agreement, while seeking support from China and Russia

Iran's president, Masoud Pezeshkian, said the Islamic Republic is ready to return to the terms of the memorandum of understanding signed with the US, which suspended hostilities between the two countries in June and established a diplomatic process, if Washington chooses to return to negotiation. The promise of "reciprocity" to an American move was made during the summit meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), held in Kyrgyzstan.

The event brings together non-Western leaders, including China's President Xi Jinping and Russia's President Vladimir Putin. Analysts point out that the Iranians intend to use the forum to counter the new economic sanctions campaign announced by the US against Iran.

An old abandoned phone booth in Belmonte, which had not been used for years, was transformed into a street library called "cabine das histórias" (story booth), a project by the Association Belmonte em Movimento in partnership with IPDJ and the Parish Council. The project, approved by IPDJ, involved voluntary work by young people and aims to promote sustainability, book sharing, and the preservation of the public garden. The booth currently has 200 to 300 books, obtained through approximately 20 donations, and intends to promote activities such as Story Time. The association hopes the population will welcome the initiative positively, considering the recurring vandalism problems in the town.
