Brazil recorded the fifth highest global Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate in the second quarter of this year, according to the risk rating agency Austin Rating. The survey considers the performance of economies among 50 countries that have already released their results.
The Brazilian economy grew 0.5% between April and June, compared to the first three months of the year, with seasonal adjustment. The result places the country one position above what was recorded in the first quarter, when it had ranked sixth.
The list was prepared by Alex Agostini, chief economist at Austin Rating, and considers the quarterly performance of economies with seasonal adjustment, which allows for a more direct comparison between countries. The countries that grew the most in the second quarter were Ireland (1.0%), Indonesia (0.9%), Angola (0.7%), Malaysia (0.6%) and Brazil (0.5%).
