Jefferies raises EDP recommendation to 'buy'

Jefferies raised EDP's recommendation to 'buy' with an optimistic outlook for the future of the Portuguese utility. EDP Renováveis, on the other hand, maintained its recommendation unchanged, also at 'buy'.

EDP's target price stands at 5.40 euros, compared to the 4.7 euros value recorded in the market on Tuesday. EDP Renováveis has a target price of 16.8 euros compared to the 13.8 euros recorded in trading.

The analysts at the US bank wrote in a note published on Tuesday, September 1st, that they see EDP well positioned for stronger gains, supported by higher electricity prices and an improvement in the growth outlook.
