The Raízes Vivas Festival – Celebration of Rurality, Customs and Traditions will return to Santarém on September 25 and 26, at Jardim das Portas do Sol, for its second edition. After a debut in 2025, the event grows in size and ambition, now running for two days, and aims to position Ribatejo as a true "Living Reserve of Ribatejo Culture."
The festival expects to welcome more than 4,000 visitors and brings together over 120 producers, artisans, farmers, chefs, musicians, and local agents, in a celebration of Ribatejo identity, gastronomy, traditional crafts, and the local economy.
The official presentation took place on August 31, at Largo de Marvila, in Santarém. Present were the mayor of Santarém, João Teixeira Leite, the president of the Regional Tourism Entity of Alentejo and Ribatejo, José Manuel Santos, and chef Rodrigo Castelo, the festival's creator and curator.
