BNDES Puts Another R$ 4.1 Billion and Available Credit in Brazil Soberano 3 Rises to R$ 22.6 Billion in Total

BNDES will make available another R$ 4.1 billion for the third phase of the Plano Brasil Soberano, raising the total credit line to R$ 22.6 billion. Initially, this phase was planned at R$ 18.5 billion.

The program is a rescue plan for exporting companies affected by Donald Trump's tariff blitz. After the American and Israeli attacks on Iran, the program was expanded to include other sectors affected by the conflict.

The National Monetary Council (CMN) approved, last week, changes to credit rules to expand financing for fertilizer companies and reduce charges for critical mineral producers. BNDES announced that it will open the loan application process in another phase of the program in 15 days.

The third phase of Brasil Soberano was announced in July, with the issuance of a provisional measure (MP) and a ceremony at the Palácio do Planalto, with the participation of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
