Randy Quaid attacks Anne Hathaway's casting in 'Days of Thunder 2' and fans react: 'Hurt for being left out'

Tom Cruise confirmed on social media last weekend that the sequel to "Days of Thunder," his 1990 film set in the NASCAR racing universe, is already in development. The information was shared through a video posted by the actor.

The big highlight of the announcement was the confirmation of Anne Hathaway as co-star of the feature film, which is scheduled for release in mid-2028. The revelation generated widespread enthusiasm on social media among fans.

However, Randy Quaid, the actor who played Tim Daland in the first film — the automotive businessman who recruits Tom Cruise's character — decided to make aggressive comments about Anne Hathaway's casting on the X platform (formerly Twitter).

Fans reacted to Quaid's comments, interpreting his attitude as resentment for being left out of the sequel project. Unlike the first film, Quaid will not be present in the new production.
