Flamengo announced on Tuesday the signing of 23-year-old Ecuadorian striker Anthony Valencia. He is the club's first signing in this mid-year transfer window. Valencia was bought from Royal Antwerp, of Belgium, for five million euros, which corresponds to approximately R$ 30 million at the current exchange rate. Payment will be made in three installments by Flamengo.
After the agreement between the clubs, Valencia arrived in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday night. On Monday, the player already trained at Ninho do Urubu, Flamengo's training center. The official announcement was made by the club on Tuesday.
The signing of Valencia marks the beginning of Flamengo's activity in the transfer market during this window. The young Ecuadorian striker arrives to strengthen the team's offensive sector.
