The 34th International Canaries-Madeira Regatta is already taking place in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
This year's edition features the participation of 30 vessels that had their start signal at 12 hours in the bay of the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, on the Spanish island of Tenerife.
The race started in good wind conditions, with it blowing from the northwest between 10 to 15 knots of intensity.
With a starting buoy at the exit of the Canary island, the fleet now faces a course of about 260 nautical miles to Madeira.
