IL fears new bottlenecks with BUS lanes in Funchal

The Liberal Initiative (IL) expressed concern about the impact that the new changes to road circulation may have in Funchal. The creation of approximately 775 meters of BUS lanes on 5 de Outubro Street, 31 de Janeiro Street and Visconde de Anadia Street may reduce capacity on already congested roads and cause new bottlenecks in the city. The IL does not contest the objective of strengthening the use of public transport, but questions the way this measure was implemented. IL member Rosie Bayntun, municipal deputy, issued a press release presenting the party's positions on this matter.
