House prices rise 14% in Alentejo and Évora is among the districts with the highest appreciation

The price of houses advertised for sale in Alentejo increased by 14% in August compared to the same month last year, placing the region as the second highest appreciation in the country, just one tenth below the Centre. The median asking price for housing in the region reached 2,172 euros per square meter, a new high in the series presented by the idealista platform, which publishes this data.

The three Alentejo districts recorded even more pronounced developments. In the district of Évora, asking prices for houses increased by 19.5% in one year, the fourth highest increase among the districts and islands considered by idealista, with the median value reaching 1,777 euros/m². Portalegre recorded an appreciation of 17%, rising to 1,033 euros/m², while Beja showed an increase of 16.3%, with the median price standing at 1,521 euros/m².

Among district capitals, Beja and Portalegre rank fourth and fifth among the capitals with the highest annual increases, with appreciations of 17.4% and 17.3% respectively. In the city of Évora, the appreciation was less pronounced, at 12.1%, but the asking price remains substantially higher, reaching 2,669 euros/m². The data reveals distinct behaviors within the region: Beja and Portalegre maintain values below those of Évora, but with higher growth rates.

The appreciation in Alentejo clearly surpasses the country's average evolution, which recorded a 7.5% increase in advertised prices, practically half of the 14% observed in the region. The national median price stood at 3,207 euros/m², remaining above the 2,172 euros/m² asked in Alentejo.

149 young people from Castelló request rental assistance in Castelló. And now what?

A total of 149 young people from Castelló submitted requests for rental subsidies after the deadline, in a municipal program endowed with 405,000 euros for the first time. The councilor for Housing, Ester Giner, stated that the main objective is "to respond to the greatest concern of Castellonense and Spanish society, such as access to housing, especially for the youngest." The applications will now be analyzed to verify the documentation, followed by the evaluation and granting of aid of up to 50% of the rent, with a maximum of 800 euros per dwelling or room for a maximum of 12 monthly installments. If there are irregularities, candidates will have a period of 10 working days to correct the documentation.
