The Lisbon Stock Exchange was halfway through the session with a gain of 0.53% to 9,487.52 points, standing out in the opposite direction to the main European indices which continued in the red. This positive dynamic contrasts with the negative performance seen in the major European stock exchanges.
The biggest gains on the Portuguese stock market were led by EDP, which rose 1.48% to 4.74 euros, followed by Sonae with a gain of 1.25% to 2.03 euros, Galp Energia with an advance of 1.17% to 21.65 euros, and EDP Renováveis which rose 1.17% to 13.82 euros. Also in the green were companies such as Teixeira Duarte, Mota-Engil, Jerónimo Martins, Navigator, Altri and CTT. Conversely, Semapa broke down 2.36% to 20.70 euros, Ibersol dropped 1.55% to 10.14 euros, and NOS lost 1.39% to 4.96 euros, in addition to Banco Comercial Português and REN.
In the European context, the German DAX broke down 0.96% to 26,028.45 points, the French CAC 40 dropped 0.20% to 8,317.88 points, and the British FTSE 100 lost 0.75% to 10,743.45 points. The Dutch AEX dropped 0.28%, the Spanish IBEX 35 broke down 0.88%, and the Italian FTSE MIB lost 1%.
In the commodities market, oil was trading higher, with Brent rising 3.97% to $91.88 and crude gaining 2.18% to $87.63. Regarding foreign exchange, the euro was breaking down 0.24% against the dollar to $1.15911 and falling 0.12% against the pound to 0.85628 pounds.
