MC Sonae will invest 500 thousand euros to train approximately four thousand workers in artificial intelligence, reinforcing its initiatives to integrate this technology into work processes. The group highlighted that AI has already enabled savings of approximately 100 thousand hours of work in one year, with impacted tasks including meetings, document processing, research automation, inventory validation, and information processing.
The organization has two main initiatives: AIccelerate, a strategic program to accelerate AI adoption, and AI First, which is transforming software development to incorporate AI into the company's tools. AIccelerate is based on three pillars: AIOps, which integrates AI into business processes; AI Enabled Products, with 13 AI products for retail decisions; and Enterprise AI Adoption, which reinforces knowledge and confidence in using the technology.
The AIOps program took place between June and August 2025, involving a team of 13 people and approximately 2,500 hours of work. The results demonstrated a reduction of 40% in time to create user stories, of 60% in time dedicated to technical debt, and of 25% in average workflow execution time, plus savings of 17% in cloud costs.
In 2026, AIOps is present in six areas of MC, covering approximately 150 people, and will be expanded to three more areas in the last quarter. The Enterprise AI Adoption was also launched, a structured training program based on an assessment answered by four thousand people, with e-learning paths that aim to strengthen AI literacy and create a common knowledge base in the organization.
