Public Prosecutor's Office opens inquiry after Fenprof complaint about national exams

Diário de Aveiro1 September 2026 at 11:00

The Public Prosecutor's Office opened an inquiry to investigate problems in the national exams for basic and secondary education. The investigation was initiated after a complaint filed by Fenprof, the National Federation of Teachers.

The federation reported delays in making the tests available to students. Errors were also identified in the digitization of students' answers, which may have affected the grading of the exams.

In addition, difficulties were reported in the grading platform used for the assessment of the tests. These technical problems caused disruptions in the process of taking and grading the national exams.

Fenprof's complaint to the Public Prosecutor's Office comes following these irregularities detected during the exam season, with the federation hoping that the opening of the inquiry will help clarify responsibilities for the identified problems.
