RTP Notícias1 September 2026 at 11:00

Portugal is above the euro area average in terms of inflation. The annual inflation rate in the euro area accelerated to 3.3% in August. This value represents a significant increase compared to the previous period.

The growth in inflation in the euro area was mainly due to energy prices, whose rate is expected to have accelerated to 14.3% in August, a considerably higher value than the 10.3% recorded in July. Portugal thus appears positioned above the European average at this time.
