Russia warned foreigners about worsening attacks on Kyiv

Eco1 September 2026 at 10:47

Russia again warned foreign diplomats and citizens to leave the city of Kyiv, warning that the Russian Armed Forces will increase the number of attacks against the Ukrainian capital. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova recalled this recommendation at a press conference in Moscow, emphasizing that previous alerts have not lost validity and that attacks on Ukrainian military facilities will be intensified.

The first warning occurred before the Russian military parade on May 9th, which marked the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in 1945. At the time, Moscow authorities issued an urgent warning for foreign diplomats to leave the Ukrainian capital. At the end of May, the Russian military command announced a new bombing campaign against command centers and companies linked to the military industry in the Kyiv region.

This information was conveyed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to his American counterpart Marco Rubio. Lavrov also drew attention to the Foreign Ministry's recommendation regarding the withdrawal of diplomats and other foreigners from Kyiv. In recent weeks, Russia has intensified attacks against the Ukrainian capital, causing the death of dozens of civilians.

On Sunday, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that it is preparing to launch a campaign of attacks against facilities linked to energy production and storage in Ukraine. Last night, at least nine people died in the Kyiv region as a result of Russian bombings, according to Ukrainian authorities.
