At the time, Moscow authorities issued an urgent warning for foreign diplomats to leave the Ukrainian capital. At the end of May, the Russian military command announced a new bombing campaign against command centers and companies linked to the military industry in the Kyiv region.

Lavrov also drew attention to the Foreign Ministry's recommendation regarding the withdrawal of diplomats and other foreigners from Kyiv. On Sunday, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that it is preparing to launch a campaign of attacks against facilities linked to energy production and storage in Ukraine. Last night, at least nine people died in the Kyiv region as a result of Russian bombings, according to Ukrainian authorities.
