Arcos de Valdevez City Hall again supports students and schools in the return to classes

Alto Minho TV1 September 2026 at 10:37

Arcos de Valdevez City Hall signed two protocols under the School Social Action program, with a total investment of approximately 90 thousand euros, aimed at supporting students and schools in the return to classes for the 2026/2027 school year. The measure seeks to alleviate the burden on families and ensure that all students have access to essential pedagogical resources, regardless of their economic situation.

The first protocol provides for free access to worksheets for students in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd cycles of Basic Education. Students in levels A and B benefit from 100% co-payment of the worksheet costs, while students without a level receive support corresponding to 50% of that value.

A protocol was also signed with the Valdevez School Grouping to guarantee students at all education levels, from Pre-school to Secondary, access to the initiatives in the Activity Plan for the next school year. This plan continues the focus on Curricular Enrichment Activities, as well as initiatives promoting environmental education, sustainability, reading, arts, culture, well-being and enhancement of local heritage and history.

The protocols involve the Valdevez School Grouping, the Parents and Guardians Association and four bookshops in Arcos de Valdevez: O Agrafo, Lda, Quiosque O Pelourinho, Livraria Académica and Papelaria Versus.
