Eleven districts on the Portuguese mainland will be under yellow warning due to hot weather from Wednesday. The Portuguese Sea and Atmosphere Institute (IPMA) issued this heat warning for several regions of the country.

Maximum temperatures will rise significantly in various locations across mainland Portugal. According to IPMA, thermometers should register a rise of ten to 12 degrees Celsius in some areas.

In regions such as the Tagus Valley, Beira Baixa and Alentejo, temperatures could reach very high values, between 40 and 42 degrees Celsius. These areas will be among the most affected by the approaching heat wave.
