The SEE Countries program brought together tourism professionals to discuss challenges in promoting tourist experiences in Portugal. The event focused on the need to make tourism offerings more accessible and understandable for visitors.
According to what was highlighted at the conference, the tourist mainly seeks to understand what they will experience upon arriving at the destination. This need for clarity and predictability has been one of the main concerns of the sector.
It was also noted that Portugal has never suffered from a lack of tourist experiences. The real problem was that many of these experiences remained invisible to potential visitors, meaning they were difficult to discover and learn about.
Additionally, another identified difficulty was the complexity of booking these experiences. Even when tourists managed to find interesting offers, the booking process presented barriers that hindered the completion of the visit.
