The new legislation for the TVDE regime (transport in uncharacterized vehicles) came into force this Tuesday. The law comes to officially integrate the taxi sector into electronic transport platform activity.
With this change, the traditional taxi sector becomes framed within the same regulatory activity as electronic platforms operating through mobile applications. This convergence represents a significant alteration in the way transport services are organized in Portugal.
The legislation aims to standardize the rules applicable to the different operators in the sector, creating a common framework for taxis and electronic platform vehicles. This Tuesday thus marks the beginning of the practical application of this new regulation on the ground.
