ADN wants to know the real value of support for each beekeeper

dnoticias.pt1 September 2026 at 09:15

The ADN party requested clarification from the Regional Government of the Azores regarding the operationalization of support for beekeepers, under the POSEI program. The initiative was presented by deputy Carolina Martins.

According to the policy, the POSEI program establishes a maximum limit of 3,250 hives in production and 52 tons of supported honey. The regulation also provides for a pro-rata mechanism in case support requests exceed the available funds.

The Autonomous Region currently has 10,977 registered hives, a number significantly higher than the maximum ceiling provided for in the program, which may imply the application of pro-rata distribution among producers.

The ADN party considered the support provided positive, but argued that producers have the right to know in advance the real value of the support each one will have access to, so they can plan their beekeeping activity.
