Mozambique's competition authority gave the green light to Visabeira Mozambique to acquire the 30% stake in TV Cabo Mozambique that belonged to the state operator Tmcel. With this transaction, Visabeira now controls 80% of TV Cabo.
The operation was approved without opposition by the competition regulator in Mozambique, allowing Visabeira to strengthen its position in the country's telecommunications sector.
Tvcel, the state telecommunications operator, had until now held a significant position in TV Cabo, but ceded this 30% stake to Visabeira as part of an agreement between the parties.
