The Chega party harshly criticized the visit of Minister Luís Neves to Madeira. The comment was made by Deputy Francisco Gomes, through a press release, where he considered that Luís Neves should be the "last official act as Minister". The government official is in the Autonomous Region to participate in the celebrations of the Day of the Regional Command of the PSP.
Francisco Gomes considered that Luís Neves "should not even be authorized to land in Madeira", referring to the shame that, according to the party, the minister has brought to the country and to the Security Forces. The press release does not specify the concrete reasons for this criticism.
Luís Neves, who apparently is the Minister of Internal Administration, is in Madeira to participate in an official ceremony related to the Regional Command of the PSP. This visit occurs in the context of the celebrations of the Day of the Regional Command of the Public Security Police.
Francisco Gomes expressed the expectation that the ceremony in which Luís Neves participates in Madeira would effectively be his last official act, hinting that the Chega party would like to see the end of the minister's term during this visit to the Autonomous Region.
