Rock in Rio 2026: see how the weather will be on the first weekend of shows and find out what you can or cannot bring

oglobo1 September 2026 at 08:30

The first weekend of Rock in Rio 2026 shows will take place from Friday to Monday, which is the Independence Day holiday. The period promises to be marked by unstable weather, with rain forecast and, for some nights, wind gusts of up to 60km/h with possibility of lightning, according to meteorology.

The rain poncho will be a mandatory accessory for the audience, as it is prohibited to bring umbrellas to Cidade do Rock. The guidance is that spectators prepare for adverse weather conditions during the shows.

According to Climatempo, Friday starts sunny and hot, with steady weather for most of the day and rain forecast only at the end of the night. The city's Operations and Resilience Center (COR) forecasts a minimum of 16 degrees and a maximum of 34 degrees.

The winds during the event will be predominantly moderate, with speeds between 18.5km/h and 51.9km/h, as predicted by weather agencies.

A chronicle about nothing

This article is a cultural chronicle that explores the concept of "nothing" in literature and creativity, analyzing the work "Book about Nothing" by Brazilian poet Manoel de Barros, inspired by Gustave Flaubert's phrase about writing a book sustained only by style. The chronicle delves into philosophical, scientific and artistic perspectives on emptiness, from nihilism to existentialism, through quantum vacuum and zero in mathematics, arguing that emptiness is an illusion full of creative potential. The text also suggests practical creative writing exercises, such as focusing on silence, the texture of objects or the musicality of words, and mentions Julia Cameron's program "The Artist's Way" for creative unblocking.
