A 41-year-old man was arrested on Friday (28th) in Criciúma, Santa Catarina, after threatening and shooting at three children's soccer referees. He was charged with attempted qualified homicide, illegal possession of permitted-use firearms and resistance.
The suspect was attending a children's soccer match at a local gymnasium where his 10-year-old son was playing. The argument that led to the violence began when the referees instructed one of the athletes to remove her earrings, for reasons not specified in the article.
