Lixa Voluntary Firefighters receive donation from Timor-Leste to purchase firefighting vehicle

The Lixa Voluntary Firefighters will receive a donation from Timor-Leste worth 10 million dollars for the acquisition of firefighting vehicles, decided after the 2025 fires in Portugal. The maximum global financial support is 4,312,500 euros for corporations in the North of the country, covering 75% of the cost of each vehicle, up to a maximum of 187,500 euros per contract. CCDR-Norte revealed that there are 23 financial support contracts with humanitarian firefighter associations in the region. The support cannot be combined with other public funding and the vehicles cannot be sold for 20 years.
Os Bombeiros Voluntários da Lixa vão receber um donativo para aquisição de viatura dedicada ao combate a incêndios ao abrigo de um donativo de Timor-Leste de 10 milhões de dólares, decidido após os incêndios de 2025 em Portugal. O donativo timorense contempla um apoio financeiro máximo global de 4.312.500 euros para corporações a norte do país e cobre 75% do custo de cada veículo, até ao máximo de 187.500 euros por contrato. Segundo a CCDR-Norte existem 23 contratos de apoio financeiro com associações humanitárias de bombeiros do Norte, destinados à aquisição deste tipo de veículos. Os apoios dados por Timor-Leste não podem ser acumulados com outros financiamentos comunitários, nacionais ou públicos destinados à aquisição do mesmo veículo ou de outro veículo da mesma tipologia. E não poderão ser alienados, cedidos ou onerados durante um período de 20 anos, de acordo com as condições dos contratos.
